spelling and intelligence

Although I agree that spelling can tell you something about the writer's intelligence, I don't think it's too much of a reflection on yours that you misspelled "canon." Although I think the word you want is something more like genre. I love the chart! Perhaps your best argument would be that at some level (5 errors?), spelling begins to comment on how much of her brain a writer is using.

True, however, most of the replies to my survey were between 50 and 100 words long. This entry, being several thousand words long, is more likely to have more errors.

That's one thing I'd really like to correct in this survey, so make it errors per word instead of just errors. I think That'd make a more accurate picture.

A ratio analysis fixes silly little annoyances like pure quantity of errors. I can show you some examples of where I did this with pronouns in a roleplaying game for a thesis, if you'd like! :)
